I have always thought...

white birds
I have always thought that stars turn into white birds in the morning light
& sleep with their heads under their wings
until the dusk begins to walk through the streets.

Young Butcher Bird

I just love taking photos of the little butcher bird!
Not sure why!
Admittedly, the butcher bird has a rather bad reputation for preying on small animals.
There are even stories that it will attack small caged birds - like budgerigars.
This photo is of a young grey butcher bird.
When it's an adult, the crown will be distinctly black and the hooked beak will be more pronounced.

Cool bird, your Butcher Bird must be similar to the Shrike seen here. They can be a terror. Awesome photo!

Incredible. Such a great close up image. And your commentary upon its adult stage was very informative. I can see why you like photographing one like this, they're quite handsome.

it is a strong beak so the name might be suitable. But it looks very sweet. Nice shot.
