I have always thought...

white birds
I have always thought that stars turn into white birds in the morning light
& sleep with their heads under their wings
until the dusk begins to walk through the streets.

Beauty of a Goanna

Goanna at the Moonlit Sanctuary, Pearcedale

Goannas can stay in one position - motionless - for a long time.

A special feature of the Moonlit Sanctuary is the evening tour for appreciating nocturnal animals.

I expect comfort when indoors...

When the sun's not around - too windy, too wet, too cold - Shadow loves her indoor comfort.
Cushions are a top priority.
First she meditates awhile.
Then she chooses one as a pillow.

Balancing the budget...

I'm not walking the plank...

This one's on the verandah railing, quite high above the ground.

Grazing Together

Two kangaroos feeding very closely together at Seawinds - lovely gardens at the top of Arthurs Seat mountain overlooking Port Phillip Bay.
I must admit, when I first took this photo, I thought that there was only one kangaroo!
Many kangaroos wander freely in the area until about mid morning, then disappear as people arrive!
At sunset, they come out again for a night feast!

Straw-Necked Ibis

The straw-necked ibis is found throughout mainland Australia and has fascinating plumage.
Above is one nesting at Coolart wetlands, Somers where hundreds of birds gather each Spring.

They are quite happy to gather and nest with white ibises.

This photo  shows one of about 25 straw-necked ibises grazing on my school oval today.
They love grassland insects such as locusts and grasshoppers.

Details of this ibis HERE!

Not my cat...

This little character is not mine!
But when I was wandering Queenscliffe on the Bellarine Peninsula, this little character was determined to get my attention!
He/she rolled around on the pathway in front of me looking for a rub!
And didn't mind a photo - but only for a second or two!

Clearly, he/she was well groomed and healthy!
Someone's beautiful pet!

I wanna go THIS way!....

Dromana by the sea is the place to walk, ride a bike and walk the dog.
Some dogs have their own agenda!
