I have always thought...

white birds
I have always thought that stars turn into white birds in the morning light
& sleep with their heads under their wings
until the dusk begins to walk through the streets.

Profiles of the Noisy Miner

Noisy miner, a native Australian bird, posing on my back verandah in the Dromana Hills, Mornington Peninsula.

Though of average size, these birds have been known to attack larger birds such as hawks and kookaburras in their bid to claim territory.

The noisy miner is also known as the mickey bird or soldier bird.
In Brisbane they have been recorded as attacking domestic cats and dogs in mobs.
See HERE.

Someone's Baby at Coolart

This little one was swimming around in the Coolart wetlands.
He seemed alone.
I have no idea whose baby this may be.
Any ideas?

Swallow at Coolart

I was delighted to capture this little character at Coolart wetlands.

I have never seen a swallow with this colouring before.

Straw-Necked Ibis at Coolart

If you wish to see a range of birds nesting, Spring is the best time to visit Coolart wetlands at Somers on the Mornington Peninsula.

The straw-necked ibis has fascinating feather colours that shine and change in the sunlight.
